Tour to Kildin
Kildin Island (Barents Sea), also known as the Northern Giant, is one of the largest islands off the northern coast of the Kola Peninsula. It was discovered during Willem Barents' expedition. Throughout its history, the island has been a site of Solovetsky monastery fisheries, later plundered by English pirates. In Soviet times, a fishing cooperative and a hunting farm operated here. Kildin impresses with its beauty and grandeur, especially during warm summer days when granite and slate cliffs are covered with lush polar greenery. The Kildin Lighthouse adds special charm to this place—its beauty truly captivates.
Tour to Dalnie Zelentsy
Dalnie Zelentsy is an atmospheric village on the Barents Sea coast. In Soviet times, the Murmansk Marine Biological Institute was located here, and its employees lived on this picturesque coast. After the institute moved to the regional capital in the early '90s, the settlement gradually fell into neglect. Currently, only a few dozen permanent residents remain.
Public transport does not reach Zelentsy, and there are neither shops nor hotels, so keep this in mind if planning to travel independently. Surrounded by abandoned buildings, you can feel like a time traveler or a hero of a post-apocalyptic film. But this is not the only reason to visit this place.
The coastline resembles Norwegian fjords: incredible sea views, picturesque cliffs, and small bays, as well as soft carpets of moss and lichens filled with berries. At low tide, you can see the remains of ships that reappear underwater when the tide comes in. Unlike Teriberka, Dalnie Zelentsy sees fewer tourists, allowing you to find solitude and truly feel at the edge of the world.
